HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOL & GENERAL GUIDELINES

GAMUT THEATRE ACADEMY / GAMUT THEATRE SUMMER ACADEMY

Please note that guidelines are constantly evolving, and we revise our Health & Safety Protocols regularly to reflect the latest data and information as provided by the CDC and as adheres to PA mandates. Melissa Nicholson, Gamut Theatre Executive Director, is a certified COVID-19 Compliance Officer and oversees all Health & Safety Protocols at Gamut Theatre.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

  1. If you have a fever or begin to exhibit any of the COVID-19 common symptoms or symptoms from any contagious disease that are out of the ordinary for you, please do NOT come to in-person class and let your teacher know ASAP.  Please note “out of ordinary.” For example, Jane often gets a runny nose during allergy season, so even though that’s a COVID symptom, Jane would not view a runny nose as out of the ordinary for her.  Always discuss with a parent!

  2. The CDC recommends that individuals 6 months of age and older be vaccinated to stop the spread of COVID-19 and its variants.

  3. Masks?  Gamut Theatre follows the rate of Covid spread weekly and follows CDC guidelines for best practices. Please consult our Health & Safety Protocol for current recommendation. In the event that you must wear a mask to class, your mask must cover your nose and mouth, so make sure you have a comfortable one.  If yours gets overly sweaty during class, Gamut has extra disposable masks, and you are welcome to change out your mask at any time.

  4. Bring your own hand sanitizer.  If you forget or don't have any, we do have some at Gamut, but it will be easier if you have a travel size bottle on your person or in your bag.

  5. Bring your own water bottle. Make sure your name or initials are clearly marked on your water bottle.  (You would be surprised how many really nice water bottles get thrown away each summer at Gamut because they are not marked and no one claims them.) Gamut has a water bottle refill station.

  6. What To Wear: Please dress appropriately for movement. No dresses, skirts, tight pants, exposed bellies, flip-flops, sandals.  Make sure you wear comfortable shoes that cover the whole foot and that you can move easily in your clothes.  This time of year can be tricky for controlling the temp in the building, and we will be opening windows to circulate fresh air as much as possible. Please dress in layers.

  7. Gamut Theatre believes that Black Lives Matter, and we ask our Staff, Artists, Students, Volunteers and Families to educate themselves on Anti-Racism.  If you are not sure what that means, this is a great place to start.

  8. When participating in programs at Gamut, we ask that you engage in the Golden Rule: Treat Other People the Way You Would Like to Be Treated (and even a little bit BETTER than you would want to be treated.)  Human contact is precious.  Let’s choose to be nice!

PLEASE NOTE
All Gamut Theatre staff - administrative, teaching, teaching assistants, and counselors are fully vaccinated and boosted.
